Context Clues: Real Humdallywags


Directions: Context clues help us figure out the definitions of words we arent
familiar with. In the activity below, read the sentences and, using context clues,
write down a possible definition of the made-up word in bold-faced print. There
may be more than one possible answer. Remember, you must provide the context
clue(s) you used in the sentence to determine the meaning of the word in bold.

Example: I like to order an ice cold, chocolate humdallywag when my parents take
me out to a restaurant.
