Students will get into groups of
4 and discuss what the Louisiana
Purchase was and how it
impacted the United States both
politically and economically. The
group will then present their
findings to the class,
highlighting how this event
changed the outlook of the
United States forever.
Role Playing:
The class will split in half; one
half taking the United States and
one half taking the French. The
class will argue why the

using the maps in an
interactive fashion.

background knowledge.

clips of historians talking
about the Purchase.

Purchase makes sense for each
