Maxwell's Equations

Electricity and Magnetism remained seperate till the arrival of Maxwell, who joined
the two fields with his famous four equations. Though the equations were developed
by different people the major contribution of Maxwell was the concept of
displacement current, which created symmetry between the laws of Electrostatic field
and Magnetic field. Though simple and beautiful, the concept of change in one field
creating the other and vice versa is quite complex to deal with analytically even for
simple cases.
