    Sub : - Buildings Construction of Government buildings without consulting the Local


    Municipalities / Municipal Corporations / Urban Development Authorities Certain
    Instructions Issued.
    Ref : - Govt.Memo.No.4119/M2/93-1 M.A., Dt : 27.11.93.

    It has been brought to the notice of the Government that Departmental buildings are being
    constructed without reference t the local Municipality / Municipal Corporations / Urban
    Development Authority and without following relevant Building Rules, Layout Rules, Zoning
    Regulations, Land use as provided in Master Plan / Zonal Development Plan. These rules and
    regulations of not contemplate any exemption for buildings taken up by the Government
    Departments or any Public Sector undertakings are expected to set an example by strict
    adherence to these provisions. Accordingly instructions have already been issued in
    Government Memo, 1st cited o all Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings,
    Co-operatives etc., not to take up any construction of building without taking the clearance of
    the concerned Municipal body / Urban Development Authority and also not to contravene
    any provisions of the rules and regulations.

    It is re-created that no Government Department/ Public Sector Undertakings should
    take up any structures without the prior approval of the concerned Municipal Body /
    Authority. In case of violation of these instructions, the concerned Municipal Body /
    Authority should prevent such construction by giving notice of demolition and also bringing
    it to the notice of the Secretary of the Department concerned, Principal Secretary to
    Government, Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department and the Chief
    Secretary to Government.

    These instructions should be strictly complied with invariably by all the concerned.
