Autobiography
As a young musician, I began my interests in playing music with the piano at age
seven; however, because of my ignorant and unappreciative self, I stopped lessons
after a year. Two years later, I began playing the violin in the fourth grade and continued
until freshman year. I began to expose myself to percussion instruments. I picked up
skills on mallet instruments, bass drum, snare drum, and timpani drums. Sophomore
year, I picked up guitar and expanded my skills since then. All throughout my life so far,
my music skills have continued to grow ever since my first few piano lessons. My ability
to read music has only strengthened and I have been able to apply it towards any
instrument I chose to learn, even vocally.
My interests in music vary because of my eclectic nature. Tunes with either
harmonious melodies or a strong bass line capture my attention. I also favor acoustic
versions of songs because of how they are stripped down to just a single guitar and
voice. My preferences in music genres are Indie and Alternative. The genre I favor the
least but dont have a complete distaste for is Country music.
Besides music, I involve myself with sports. Swimming has been a passion of
mine from the moment I began with my first lesson. I started at the age of six and by
seven I was competing with the YMCA swim team for a year. At the age of ten I joined a
club swim team, in which I remained until I was fifteen. I continued to swim on the high
school team and proceeded to break five of the school records by sophomore year. I
also developed a love for tennis and made my way into varsity my sophomore year as a
doubles player.
My goals for the future involve playing music as a hobby in college. I want to
expand my skills in writing my own music using the guitar and get back into playing the
piano. I hope to continue to grow as a musician and keep my passion and love for
music when I enter adulthood.
