ABSTRACT
Polyacetal nanocomposites with various
contents of molybdenum disufide were prepared
by compression moulding or injection moulding
process in order to study the wear behaviour
and mechanical properties(hardness testing and
fracture toughness,etc), respectively.
The effects of content of nanoparticles and wear
volume loss were investigated, respectively and
these nanocomposite materials can be used in
Mechanicalgears , sliding and guiding elements,
housing parts, springs, chains, screws, nuts, fan
wheels, pump parts, valve bodies.

INTRODUCTION
Polyoxymethylene (POM) resin is a kind of
widely used engineering thermoplastic
material, which exhibits good fatigue
resistance, creep resistance and high
impact
strength.
It
has
lowfriction
coefficient due to the flexibility of the linear
molecular chains. It has good wearresistant properties because of its high
crystallinity and high bond energy, so when
sliding against stainless steel it is difficult
to transfer to the metal counter-surface or
form wear debris in the contact area.

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is

one
of
typical
layered
compounds,which is particularly
important for solid lubrication or as
an additive for lubricating oils and
greases.
The easy sliding between MoS2
layers is generally regarded as a
significant feature for its excellent
lubricity. It has been well known
that nanosized MoS2 usually has
