(DNPER)

Subject: Vibration Analysis Report of YORK-01 Radiator Fan

Dated: 13-08-2015
CVCM official visited PPL Adhi Field on August 10, 2015 upon the on-call visit. During visit the
vibration data of York-1 in radial and axial direction was collected on 10 & 11 August, 2015. In addition
to vibration data collection, following tests were also performed to confirm the bend shaft or otherwise:
1. Phase analysis data of radiator fan
2. Natural Frequency testing of fan blades, fan hub, shaft and bearing blocks.
It is observed that vibration is slightly high on Fan Inboard Bearing in horizontal direction which may be
due to slight pulley misalignment. Bent shaft possibility was earlier communicated to PPL is ruled out
after detailed analysis of vibration data in frequency and time domain. Phase analysis is also performed
for confirmation of bent shaft, rotor unbalance and pulley misalignment.

Recommendations:
3. Detailed analysis of the data reveals that no mechanical fault is present in the equipment and the
equipment is available for unrestricted long term operation.
4. Belt tension may be checked and relaxed upto the limit.
5. Pulley alignment (Engine-Idler-Fan) may be refined.

Note:
Broken fan blade was taken out from PPL to diagnose the root cause of blade failure. For the purpose, the
blade has been sent to Fracture Analysis Lab,IST.
