Breathless, directed by Jean-Luc Godard in 1960, used jump cuts that gave an unnatural feel to audiences by completely changing the background between shots. Normally jump cuts are hidden with b-roll footage played over the cut, which makes large jumps between shots look more natural.

Breathless is a 1960 French film written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard
His use of jump cuts is unusual because it gives an unnatural and uncomfortable feel for the audience. When the jump cut happens the background completely changes. This is what gives the uncomfortable feel to it. You normally hide a jump cut with a b roll. This is where you play a different video that is related to the topic over the jump cut. This means it will look more natural because you dont wee the jump cut, especially if there is a big jump.
