ABC Bootcamp is officially over and it was a

huge success! We have been through one letter
a day for the last 26 days of school. We hit the
letters hard right off the bat and now we are
going to go back and review each letter once
more, spending more time on how to correctly
form the letter and spend a lot more time on
words that begin with each letter. The kids were
soooooo excited to survive: bootcamp. They
felt such a feeling of accomplishment on
Wednesday when we introduced our last letter
of bootcamp!
Literacy Stations continue to go well and the
kids look forward to them. This week the kids
got to explore our classroom library as one of
their stations. Next week, a Listening Station
will be introduced and the kids will get to listen
to books on portable CD players and also use
the Tumblebooks website. We have a few new
Chromebooks this year to use at our Listening
Station. We continue to incorporate the fine
motor into our stations. This week, the kids got
to stack beads on a dowel rod that was pushed
in playdoh and they also got to pick the crows
out of the corn. This is where they used tongs
to pick out all the black beads from a bucket of
popcorn seeds. Both these activities this week
were a big hit!
