Creative Process

Q&R #3: the actor must observe and understand his or her own human behavior
before s/he can know how to take on the behavior of a character in a play. (Pg. 71)
I know a lot of actors struggle with opening up and being themselves,
including myself sometimes, and it really shows in their performance. I am a strong
believer in being honest with yourself, it doesnt necessarily mean telling other
people, but just acknowledging the good, bad, and facts about yourself. This quote
brings attention to being honest with yourself and aware of your body which is
something I stress a lot in myself when working as an actor. This helps remind me to
concentrate more on the character I am portraying and not fall into to Tatyisms. This
quote sums up the most important rule I have about acting.
