Hold a Getting to Know You Conference for all BTs. (Refer
to the Getting-To-Know-You Conference Guidelines) Clarify
your role as a Mentor and the ways you might be used.
Establish a meeting date, time and location for your
meetings. Sign Mentor/Beginning Teacher Agreement.

Discuss the Administrative Evaluator/schools policies
regarding dress, teacher workdays, early release days, field
trips and inclement weather policies. (BT1 or New BT in
Building)
Make sure BT has the North Carolina Standard Course of
Study (Encompassing Common Core and NC Essential
Standards) and other curriculum guidelines. (BT1 or New BT
in Building)

Items For Mentor To Complete With BT


Conduct the First Glimpse of the BT to determine the Teaching
Behavior Focus for the Cycle of Assistance (within the first 3 weeks)
and discuss in the weekly meeting. This must be completed prior to the
1st Administrative Observation.

possible artifacts collection for areas not demonstrated or if necessary
