To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to recommend Jasmine Lopez as a worthy candidate for you scholarship. I was
Jasmines Junior English teacher last year. During that time, she proved herself to be a hard-working
student who was determined to improve her English Language skills. As a student, Jasmine demonstrated
a love of learning and the level of commitment necessary to succeed in college and beyond. As an
educator, I am happy to be able to provide such a deserving young person with these simple words of
praise.
I could always count on Jasmine to be present and ready to participate every day. She played an integral
part in our courses successful atmosphere. Jasmine is friendly and out-going, and so she worked well
with groups. Too, she is committed to her studies and so clearly had no hesitation if she needed to work
on individual assignments. If she did find herself in uncharted territory, she exhibited a willingness to ask
for helpwhether it be from me or other mentors she actively sought out.
I feel certain that you will be just as impressed with Ms. Lopez as I am. As an educator who is committed
to helping deserving students, I am familiar with Jasmines academic commitment and educational goals,
as well as the challenges she will face when it comes to paying tuition for college. Here is one we can all
feel good about helping as Jasmine will not take any offer of assistance lightly.
I know your institution will be happy to have a student and person of Ms. Lopezs caliber. She showed
herself to be someone who understood she needed to improve, at the same time, was willing to accept
constructive criticism with respect and maturity so she could move forward as a proud, independent,
educated, young woman. I implore you to help her. She is a worthy candidate if ever there was one.
Please feel free to contact me at (831) 796-7400 if you have any further questions. You can email me at
