Bread of Life

Date: 2nd August, 2009

Reading: John 6:24-35

Bread-shaped
Bible Verse Card
Materials:
bread shapes with Bible verse, photo-copied onto A4
yellow cardboard (see attached pattern) [Alternative:
Children can write the verse on for themselves]

mini-toasts (available in savoury section of most

super-markets) or small pieces of broken bread or
communion bread, dried in the oven

craft glue, scissors

optional extra: strips of stick-on magnet cut into 1cm
pieces if you want to make them into frig magnets
(available through craft shops, some hardware stores
or large stationery shops)

What to do:
1. Photocopy as many bread shapes as you need.
2. Cut out each one individually.
3. Using craft glue, stick a mini-toast or piece of oven-dried
bread onto the centre of each slice.
4. Optional: Peel off backing from sticky side of magnet
pieces and stick one in the centre of the back of each
slice.
Variation on the theme: These can also be enlarged and
used with Give us today our daily bread to tie in with a
lesson on the Lords Prayer.
