Goodevening,Iamwritingwiththeintenttopursuethetopicofforensicscienceformy
seniorPRIDEproject.Forensicsciencehasmanyareasofspecializationincludinganthropology,
pathology,criminalistics,andtoxicology.Ihavetakenaninterestinpursuingcriminal
investigatingandothercriminaljusticecareersfromaveryyoungageandhavemorerecently
decidedtoexplorethesciencebehindexaminingevidence.

Myresearchwillincludethetypesofforensicbasedscienceinwhichyoucanspecialize,
suchastoxicology,pathology,criminalistics,andanthropology.Eachbranchworksthroughtheir
specialitybeforetheirresearchiscollectedandputtogethertohelpsolveacrime.Tasksinclude
bloodandtissueexamination,identificationofhairsandfibers,fingerprintanalysis,andfirearm
identification.Whilesometasksarebasicroutineothersaremorechallengingduetothe
complexityofeachcase.Asaresultofthedifferentcasestheworkenvironment,salaries,and
educationaredifferentbetweenscientistandbetweencases.Therearemanyaccredited
universitiesacrosstheUnitedStateswithstrongforensicsciencemajorsandothernecessary
sciencemajors,suchasJohnJayCollegeofCriminalJustice.CollegeslikeJohnJayaswellas
furthertraininghelpyoupossessthequalificationsneededforacareerasalabtechnician.
Forensicshascomealongwaysincethedaysoffulminatingandthehistorybehinditis
intriguing.Whereasinthepastthemeansofconvictingsomeonewashardbecausethelackof
technology,advancementshavehelpedestablishtheguiltyfromtheinnocent.
