Renaissance

(Just a small glimpse!)

Renaissance
means rebirth.

Rebirth in what?

Culture
Life
Society
How people view themselves

Humanism
People in the 1400s start to live a more humanistic life.
Humanism is when one person starts to focus on
themselves, individuals and human achievements.
This is different from before where people were focusing on
families and their families achievements rather than
individuals in the families.

Secular
means worldly not Godly.
This is not a time period where people give up religion or
religious ways. This is when people start to focus on
learning about the world around them and learning how
they can use these skills / topics they learn about to better
the world around them for themselves and the other citizens
of the world.

During the Renaissance

People will start to dream of a better world.
People will start to create inventions that will help better
