Army 4 May 1945 CITATION FOR THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL Willian B, Aycock, 0350118, Lieutenant Colonel, Headquarters Second Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment, for meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States in Germany, from 26 February 1945 to 25 March 195, Lieutenant Colonel Aycock assumed command of his battalion while it was engaged in penetrating the Siegfried Line, Against stiff enemy resistance, heave woods, steep grades, mud and heavy mine fields, Lieutenant Colonel Aycock skillfully led the battalion to its objectives.
