Academy High School represents coming together as a family and making a better
community. Not only do we support each other as a class but our teachers help us surpass our
academic and personal goals. Preparing for life after high school becomes a critical part of our
high school experience. We believe Academy High School is very diverse and offers activities
for everyone: Scholarship Assisting, FCA (Fellowship of Christians Athletes), Technology Clubs,
GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) and other options.

When we began the process of designing our logo, each member of the group made a
separate design. We combined parts we thought represented Academy High School from the

four designs in order to make the final product. The head in our logo represents all of the
members who make up Academy, staff and students, the heart in the logo represents the unity
and the strong relationships that we have built with each other, and the symbols inside of the
heart symbolize the STEM program: science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We
decided on having purple be the only color on our logo because it is the Mapleton School
District and because it symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition.

Throughout the process of our logo making we had to do some research on how to pick
a design that best represents us as Academy. Logos fit best with one or two colors, not more
than four. To make a good logo, we had to research the colors we would want the logo to carry
and represent Academy, but also research what the color represents. We learned that purple

symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. The people at AHS are very ambitious and
powerful, so we believe it would represent us well. When working on a design for a logo it is
more beneficial to work in groups of two to four people. We separated our group of four into two
groups of two and split the work.
