Visual Art

Artist Statement Description


Your Artists Statement will accompany your art work. It is a public document available to your
audience. It expresses the intent of the art as well as the specific choices and vocabulary within the art forms
used in the piece. What did you do? How did you do it? Why did you do it?
Requirements:
1) One typed page (double spaced)
2) 3 paragraphs
a. What did you do? Explain the project and your inspiration.
b. How did you do it? Explain the process and materials used to create your art piece.
Provide examples.
c. Why did you do it? Explain your design choices using project vocabulary including
the Elements and Principles of Design. Incorporate your project research and how it
affected your artistic choices. Site your sources (Google is NOT a source.)
