Measurements
Three measurements have been performed in three
different sample solutions according to the ASTM
D6423. Three additional measurements in the same
sample solution have been performed (3b-d)).
The results are summarized in table 1.

Analyses
Measurements were conducted according to ASTM
D6423. All solutions were thermostatted to 22 C.
Activation of the electrode (before and after a series
of 10 measurements) was done by dipping in 1 M
NaOH for exactly 30 sec. and exactly 30 sec. in 1 M
HCl (three repetitions). The electrode was rinsed with
dist. water and conditioned in buffer pH 7.00 until
measurement.
The electrode was calibrated with buffers pH 4.00
and 7.00.
Between measurements, the electrode was stored in
a second thermostatted vessel in buffer pH = 7.00
(for at least 20 sec.). The electrode was rinsed with
dist. water and blotted.
After the measuring method had been started, the
electrode was dipped into the sample solution. The
measuring value was read exactly 30 sec. after both
- membrane and diaphragm of the electrode were
immersed into the sample.
