    Gaea and Ouranos were the first gods in Greek mythology. Cronus overthrew his father Ouranos and went on to eat his children to prevent being overthrown himself. Zeus later overthrew Cronus and the Titans, imprisoning them. Prometheus created mankind from clay and gifted them fire against Zeus' wishes. Zeus punished Prometheus for his defiance by having him chained to a rock where his liver was eaten daily by an eagle.
