Title: media concepts

Understand and apply LIAR to examples.

LANGUAGE
- codes and conventions not just words e.g. Images, moving images, font,
costing, colour, presentation. There are lots of things in media that is
classed as language
-tv follows the rules of moving image. E.g. Camera shots and movement,
sound, graphic, genre, narrative- posh word for story structure.
INSTITUSION
-who makes the media can be a large company like warner brothers or
small like working title. Doesnt always have to mean movies can be social
media.
AUDIENCE
-people who listen watch read or use media. Grouped together by gender,
age, how much money they earn, what they like, etc. .its aimed at YOU!
Target audience institutions work hard to make their texts appeal to the
right audience. Put you in places you will buy it or likely to see it
REPRESENTATION
The way REAL LIFFE id presented in the media represented in a different
way to us to make us more interested a fake reality. Groups of people
are represented in a certain light so that people begin to believe all people
in that group are that way. Places, gender, social class ect can also be
represented.
