Adaptation

Cactus

This plant has adapted to the

climate because the desert is a
hot, dry habitat. A cactus has
thick leaves and stems for
storing water, because of
draught and heat.

Echidna

Echidnas have a stiff snout to

break logs and ant/termite
mounds. It also has a 30cm long
tongue with small spikes to reach
and grab its food

Stick Insect

Stick insects have the ability to

fake death, called thanatosis.
They play dead to make their
predator or prey think that they
are dead, so that they leave
(predator) or come toward them
(prey) before they eat them.
