TO ADJUST BY-PASS VALVE
If pressure does not drop
after continued pumping, the
By-Pass Valve must he adjusted
as follows:
Remove By-Pass Yalve Cap Nut.
Remove Spring and Cone Point
valve.
Measure Spring free length
(This should be between
1,3/16" and 1,5/16" long,
approx. 1" Dia. and made of
037" ~ 1038" Dia. Spring
Steel)
If Spring has become compressed
to a length shorter than
1 3/16" a new spring should be
fitted. (If however a new
spring is not readily available,
the old spring can be stretched
to above 1 5/16" and used as a
temporary measure until a new
Spring can be obtained).
Replace Valve, Spring and Cap
Nut
Try Foot Pump and note
reaction.
In the event of ofl leakage
‘from under cap plugs etc. new
copper washers should be fitted
Git may be advisable to heat
the copper washer to cherry red
and quench in water to fully
anneal them thus ensuring that
they seal effectively) Take
care to avoid damaging seating
face of cap plugs.
