TURBO CHARGER

Super Charger driven by a turbine , powered

by engines exhaust gases.

Increases an Internal Combustion engines

efficiency and power output .

Forces extra air into combustion chamber

with pressure higher that atmospheric
pressure.

Powered by turbine driven by engines

exhaust gas.

Turbo Charger more efficient, but less

responsive.

Less responsive due to Throttle Lag

Turbo Charger relies on build up of exhaust

gas pressure to drive turbine, only when
engine reaches sufficient speed.

Turbine starts to spin fast, produce intake

pressure above atmospheric pressure.

ADVANTAGES

Cooler , denser air with more oxygen.

More oxygen and fuel in combustion

chamber=more POWER

No direct mechanical pressure, but place

exhaust back pressure.

SUPER CHARGER

Super charger is driven by belts, gears,

chains, shafts etc

Unlike Turbo charger, Super charger is driven

by belts like in case of alternator in car.

Super Chargers have no Throttle lag as it

starts working as soon as the engine is
started and keeps running all the times.

Super Charger puts load on the engine as it

derives power from engine for its operation.

Super chargers require more space than

turbo chargers.

WORKING OF NATURALLY ASPIRATED ,

TURBO CHARGED AND SUPER
CHARGED ENGINE

HYBRID TURBO

HYBRID TURBO

High speed Turbine Generator and High

Speed Electric Air Compressor.

The speed is above 1,20,000 rpm.

Consists of an Electric motor driven Turbo

charger and a normal Turbo charger.
