Daily practice routine

Activities (specify)

5-10 mins

Sing an ascending major octave scale holding the last note of the
scale for an extra 4 beats, before descending. Repeat with a minor
scale. Use different sounds and letters of the alphabet (e.g. la, ah,
ba, ca, da, ee, ka, pa)
-Repeat with a major and minor pentatonic scale.

mins

Practise ascending and descending semitone scales. Repeating


faster or slower, and trying trills.
Improve breathing by doing breathing exercises:
*In for 4, hold for 4 then sing one note steadily and controlled.
*Hold a note whilst humming, pushing note to the front of your face
to increase vibration in the face.
*Hold a note in your yawn space to improve projection.

Practise arpeggios:
*octave major and minor, major 7, dominant 7 and minor 7.
- holding the last note longer, each note a beat longer, or staccato
and legato.

Practise songs in repertoire:
* Spend time going over areas I need to improve on or that I am
struggling with
*the transition of head to chest voice- ascending and descending
scales around those notes.
* key changes- octave jumps e.g C to C, D to D.
