Advantages of Nanofabrics

Nanofabrics are completely new technology to provide a better life for human. First, this fabric
will provide human with a water resistance clothes. This technology are mainly applied Lotus
Effect with a super hydrophobicity as Lotus Flower Nelumbo. Lotus Effectworking with high
surface tension so the water droplet try to minimize their surface by trying to attain spherical
circle. Source of this effect is the water hydrophobic water impermeable. The hydrophobicity of
a surface can be measured can be measured by its contact angle (measured between liquid and
fabric surface). High contact angle will result a high hydrophobicity of that surface.
Olivia Ong,a senior design major at Cornell University debuted a jacket and dress using
nanofabric. This material overlaying in Nano-sized, anti-dirt, allergies, and prevent harmful
pollution before it reaches wearers skin. Using a Nano-sized of particles, nanotubes. Nanotubes
feel and look like standars fabrics. Before this, many attempt to try make a smart clothes, but
they are try to design with put microprocessors in placed like patches to be worn.
Last but not least, Nanofabrics also increase elasticityand strength using carbon nanotube
(CNTS). CNTS are completely different carbon fiber. When CNTS make a contact with surface
of fabric the nanoparticles are ready to form bods with the fibre of fabrics .When we increase the
surface are and volume of particles that will increases their chemical reactivity and this allowing
them to stick to materials more permanently and strongly. These fabric which are coated with
nanoparticles during manufacturing will produce materials that kill bacteria, eliminate moisture
and odor, and prevent static electricity. (imbalance of electric charges with or on the surface of a
material)
