FOREWORD
A decade ago gas equipment manufacturing capabilities
were almost non existent in Pakistan. With the passage of time
however, as the consumption of natural gas increased to almost
50% in total country's energy consumption, the manufacturing
activities in the Gas Sector started picking up. The focus on the
use of CNG as an alternate fuel for vehicles has resulted in
Pakistan's ranking as the third largest NGV populated country.
Today, Pakistani Companies are manufacturing a variety of
products ranging from sophisticated Well-Head Equipment to other Gas Equipment
including Pipes, LPG Cylinders, Bowzers, High & Low Pressure Regulators and
Valves, LPG Regulators, Cylinder Valves, burners etc. and specialized CNG
products like CNG Kits, Priority Panels, CNG Dispensers etc. In addition to this, the
manufacturers of quality domestic gas appliances are presently catering to the
needs of the local market and have the capability and capacity to supply in the
international markets.
The equipment manufacturers in the Gas Sector have state-of-the-art
manufacturing facilities licensed with international certifications like API spec 5CT,
API spec 7 and ISO-9001, their products, therefore, conform to the international
standards. Apart from the above, the service providers are playing their role

Company Profile:
Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. (PPL) is the oldest Exploration & Production
Company and the largest of its kind in the country.
PPL and its ex-parent Burmah Oil Company have been active in the subcontinent
since the early 20th century. A total of 239 wells including 65 exploratory and 174
appraisal / development wells have so far been drilled which resulted in the
discovery of about 19.90 Tcf gas (both operated and non-operated leases). A gas
condensate/oil field at Adhi with original recoverable reserves of 1,253 MT liquefied
Petroleum Gas and 39.4 MMbbl of oil/condensate was also discovered by PPL. For
the year 2004-05, PPL's share of average production from its operated and nonoperated fields was 953 MMcfd of gas, 1,372 bpd of oil/NGL and 26 tones per day of
LPG. Production of gas from these fields meets about 25.1% of the country's
indigenous production.
