Flag Presentation

For the last 2 weeks we have been learning

Amrhn na bhFiann. We walked into the PE hall.
Ms Hernon`s class and Ms Jones`s class did the
Guard of Honour. Two members of the defence
forces came to the school. Their names were Lt
Hurley and Cpl Davis. They asked us a few
questions. Lt Hurley and Evan O` Keefe read the
proclamation.

Hurley
gave
the
proclamation to Conall Carey. He received it
because he is the great great grand nephew of
Peadar Kearney. In the flag presentation Ms
Roche received the flag because her great
granddad raised the flag at the GPO. Connor
Liscombe and his brother Daragh showed the flag
that was supposed to be raised at the GPO. It had
bullet marks and tiny holes. Connor`s granddad`s
friend gave him the flag. Then we sang Amrhn
na bhFiann. We were the last ones to leave the
hall.
