Zero Conditional

used for situations which are always true, we do not really have a
choice or influence on what happens... it is some kind of a law of
nature, or a thing that always happens

If/Whenever + present simple

Present simple

If you heat the water, it boils. If you mix black and white, you get gray.

First Conditional
If + present simple

Will + infinitive

it is used for situations in the present or near future which are possible,
we are not sure if they will happen or not, but there is a chance... it can
happen
If you come back by 5 o'clock, we will go to the movies.
If you see Anne, she will tell you the answer.

Second Conditional
If + past simple

Would + infinitive

it is used for situations in the present or near future which are not
possible, we know they are unlikely to happen right now, something
contrary to the facts in the present

If I was taller, I would play basketball. (but I am not taller, and I cannot be
taller)
If I had four arms, life would be easier. (but I do not have four arms)
If I knew the answer, I would tell you (but I do not know)
