    Objective:
    After reading Stop Going Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!, first grade students will
    be able to recall the characters and share something about them and
    tell where the story took place.
    Book Level: E
    Book Title: Stop Going Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!
    Before Reading (5 mins)
    Introduce title.
    o What do you think this book is going to be about?
    Picture walk
    Discuss bolded words
    o Cock-a-doodle-doo
    o Achoo
    o Plank
    o Oops
    During Reading (10 mins)
    First grade students are asked to whisper read to themselves.
    While they are reading I will be scanning to make sure students
    are on task or if need help with a work.
    If they need help with a word they will reference yellow decoding
    paper to help pick a technique to figure out the unknown word.
    After Reading (5 mins)
    Comprehension Questions
    o Who were the characters in the story and share something
    about them?
    o Where did this story take place?
    o Why do you think roster couldnt go cock-a-doodle-do
    anymore?
