ARREST MADE IN CASE OF RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY WHERE DOG WAS SHOT


Detectives have received multiple tips on this case and we are pleased to announce that a suspect
was taken into custody today.
Matthew W. Oden was picked up on a warrant issued through the Johnson County District Court,
in regards to this burglary.
We'd like to thank the public for their overwhelming response and the Kansas City, Missouri
Police Department for their assistance.

Residential Burglary in the 6600 block of W 132nd Terrace


Around 3:30 this afternoon, Overland Park Police responded to a reported residential burglary in the 6600 block of W
132nd Terrace. The homeowners arrived home to find someone had entered their home, ransacked several rooms, and
shot the family dog while inside the home. The dog was transported, by the family, to a local veterinary clinic, where it
is expect to make a recovery.
Officers are still investigating on scene. At this time, it is unknown what items, if any, were taken from the home. A
neighbor reported seeing a bright red, four door car, displaying a Missouri tag in the area between 12:30 and 1:00. The
car was driven by a white male with brown hair.
