Classroom Expectations
1. Respect the Classroom Community
: Differences in political and religious views are not
to be the occasion for negative comments, but a learning opportunity. Students are
asked to listen attentively when somebody has been recognized and allowed the
opportunity to speak.
2. Come to Class Prepared to Work
:

3. The Teacher, Not the Bell, Dismisses the Class:

4. No Food or Drink in Class

Onlybottledwaterispermitted.
Absences
If you were absent, check our class Google Classroom page. When you return, you can ask a
classmate or the teacher for more information if you didnt understand how to complete any
missing assignments. In other words, because everything for this course is available 24/7 online
there is almost zero excuses to not keep up with assignments.
There is no need to ask the teacher what you missed since you will have all of your materials
posted online for you!
Restroom & Leaving the Classroom
If you have to leave the classroom, such as going to the restroom, then you will need to sign-out
using the whiteboard by the door.
You
do not
need to ask my permission to leave, just write your name on the board.
Only one
student may leave the classroom at a time.
This procedure is a privilege, so if it is abused it will be
changed.
Tardy
If you are not in your seat by the time the bell rings, you will be marked tardy.
Google Classroom/ Website
Every handout, assignment sheet, reading (not in textbook), and any other course materials will
be posted on Google Classroom.
Unit calendars can be found on the teachers website.

Prep: 3rd and 4th
Before school (between 7-8am)
After school

Ms. Alvarado will be available during prep periods. If this time does not work for you, please
arrange another time to meet with the teacher including lunch, after school, or tutorial. I am often
available during those times, but to ensure a meeting please give me a heads up. Besides talking
in person, email is the best way to get in contact with me.
This year I share my classroom with another teacher during my prep periods to ensure a meeting
time please email me to schedule and time and location on campus to meet.

Communication
If work is going to be late or you are having problems with completion, it is important that you
communicate with the teacher so we can make adjustments. Communication between us is
extremely important. If you do not talk to the teacher then we do not know what is going on with
you.
Participation
Participation is instrumental to your success in this classthe more you both raise and answer
questions, engage in conversations, and contribute to debates, the more you will get out of this
course.
Remember that active listening is as important as active talking
, so be mindful and respectful of
