    Miss Albrights Class News

    October 2, 2015
    Announcements:
    The PTO meeting is Monday,
    October 5th at 6:00 PM. First
    grade students will perform.
    Please wear your pirate
    costume.
    DRES restaurant night at
    McAllisters is Tuesday,
    October 6th.
    The DRES Rocket Run will be
    on Friday, October 9th. Please
    read over the flyer that was
    sent home about Rocket Run
    spirit days.
    Parent conference day is
    Thursday, October 15th. If you
    are unable to meet on the 15th
    please email me so we can set
    up a day and time for a
    conference.
    Fall break is October 15th -16th.
    There is no school for
    students on these days.
    Picture retakes will be on
    Tuesday, October 20th.

    A Peek at Our Week


    Reading/Language Arts: This week we will be
    on unit 2, week 2 in our Wonders reading series.
    Our phonics skill for this week is short u. We
    are also learning about characters, setting, and
    events. In grammar we are writing contractions
    with apostrophes.
    Math: We are continuing addition with sums to
    20. We are learning different strategies to solve
    these addition problems.
    Social Studies: We are learning about
    Christopher Columbus.
