Harbor Pilots to Bring in Largest Cargo Ship to Port Everglades
Port Everglades, Fla. The Port Everglades Pilot Association is scheduled to bring in MSC Maria
Elena, the largest cargo ship ever to arrive at Port Everglades and one of the largest cargo ships to arrive
in the State of Florida, on Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 3 a.m. EDT and is scheduled to depart at 11 p.m.
EDT that night.
This cargo ship, which is 1,105 long by 141 wide, and has a gross tonnage of 107,849 tons, may be the
largest cargo ship that Port Everglades can safely accommodate until the deepening and widening project
has been completed.
