More specifically, de present invention relates to bbeavy duty pneumatic tires that are to be mounted to trucks, buses, and the like. BACKGROUND ART 002} Forties for use in trucks and buses, to which heavy load i applied, attention is paid to stifness in bead portions thereof. This is because deformation atthe bead portions is increased under a load. Namely, the bead portions are deformed and deflected in the axially outward direction under 4 fo, An end of a tured-up portion of a carcass ply is positioned near the mid-porton, in the radial direction, of bead apex. Acconting to market research, moch damage at side portions of tres curs near the ends of the tumed-up portions in general, [0003] On the other hang, redoction in weight of tires for ‘sein trucks and buses is highly required inthe market. Asa ‘method for reducing a weight of heavy daty pneumatic ie, reduction in thickness of the bead apexes may’ be selected ‘The reduction in thickness ofthe bead apexes causes reduc tion in stillness of the bead portions. Deletion ofthe bead portion in a direction outward of the tei increased under a load, Namely, deformation ofthe bead portion is increased As result, movement ofthe end of the tumne-up postion of ‘the carcass py is increased, whereby damages more ikelyto ‘occur This sconfitmed by a quantitative determination using finite element method and CT sean. tire structure which does not reduce durability of bead portions even when the thickness of the bead aperes is reduced for, for example, reducing weight of tes, is strongly required, 004} "A technique for solving the aforementioned prob- lemas been suggested. The technique is associated with, for example, a radial ire for use in trucks and buses as disclosed in Japanese Patent No, 3683191, In this tire, side surface rubber portions of bead portions include curved concave por- tions with which curved convex portions at edges of anges portions (hereinafter, referred to as rim flange) ofa rim are engageable. The curved convex portion of the rim flange {engages with and fits nto the curved concave portion of the ‘bead portion when aniateral pressure and load are appli to the tre. As a result, @ contact pressure betwoon the curved ‘concave portion of the bead portion and the curved convex. porto of the rim ange may become uniform. Further, a creep change amount in the side surface rubber portion may be reduced [0005] Ia the technique desribed hove raius of eurva- ture ofthe curved concave portion ofthe bead portion isso as to have a value approximate to a value of a radius of curvature ofthe curved convex portion of the im flange, such thatthe curved convex portion ofthe rim flange fits well into the curved concave portion of the beed portion. As a result, ‘when the ire i under load and the bead portion i deflected ‘outward distortions likely to concentrate on portion (near 8 position ofthe end ofthe tmed-up portion of the carcass pls) ofthe bead sbove a position at which the convex portion ofthe rim lange fis ito the bead CITATION LIST Patent Literature 006} Patent Literature I: Japanese Patent No, 3643191 Oct. 23, 2014 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Problem to be Solved by the Invention [007] The present invention is made in view of the above situation, and an object of the present invention sto provide ‘heavy duty pneumatic tire which can suppres rection of durability of bead portions while allowing reduction ia ‘weight of bead apexes in order to reduce weight ofthe tie. Namely, a ratio L1/R of the ength 1 ofthe are 23 tothe raius ofeurvature ofthe convex curved surficeot ach rim ange 30 satisfies 7etuais ‘When the ratio L1/R is ess than 0.7, itis dificult to reduce ‘movement ofthe end 184 ofthe tamed-up portion 18 ofthe carcass ply 16 when th tre 1 is under a load, Asa result it ‘may be dificult to assuredly obtain durability’ ofthe bead 4 (On the other hand, when the ratio LU/R is greater than 15, ‘movement ofthe rubber nea the concave curved surface 21s excessively reduced when the tre 1 is under load. As a result, distortion is concentrated near the end 189 of the ‘tured/-np portion 18 f the cagcass ply 16, whereby it ay be cult wo assuredly obtain durability of the beads 4 042] Bach med-up portion 18 of the carcass ply 16 preferably as the following length in order to improve dura bility of the beads 4. Namely, when a distance, in the ead irction, from a bead baseline BL to the end 18a of the ‘tured/-up portion 18 of the careass ply 16 is represented as NI, aratio NUR of theistance NI to the radius of curvature of the convex curve surface 22 satsties NURS “The bead base line BL represents a straight line that passes ‘through the lower end ofthe core 14 and is paallol to the center axis of the tire, When the rato N 1 is less than 2.1, the tumed-up portion 18 is excessively short, whereby the turned-up portion 18 is likely to be removed from the bead apex 15 afer forming process. On the other hand, when the ratio NUR is prester than 3.5, the tumed-up portion 18 is Oct. 23, 2014 clongated, and the end 182 of the tamed-up portion 18 is Tikely tobe positioned in arange of the tr side portion where distonion i great under a oad. Asa result, movement ofthe nd 180of thetured+-up portion 18isinereased under a load, ‘whereby durability ofthe beads may’ not be improved, [043] For the heavy duty pneumatic tire 1 having the above structure, a test for evalating bead durability peefor- ‘mance, and atest for evaluating a rolling resistance peefor- ‘mance for weight evaluation are made, The test for evaluating bead durability performance is made by using a bench test. ‘machine having a driving drum.
