This month’s commission meeting will convene at 9:30 a.m. EST, on Thursday,
March 18, 2010, in Room 111 of the Capitol Annex, located behind the State Capitol
Building in Frankfort, Kentucky. No food or drink is allowed in the annex meeting
rooms, However, food may be purchased before the meeting in the Capital Annex
Cafeteria (502-564-3142), which is located on the lower level of the Capital Annex
Building and is open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
At 2:00 in the afternoon, our proclamation signing will take place in the State Capitol
Building in the Rotunda, This event will commemorate the 50" anniversary of the
following days: March 16", the date the Kentucky General Assembly established the
Kentucky Commission on Human Rights, and March 21%, the date that Governor Bert
Combs signed the bill creating the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights in 1960.
Governor Beshear will also sign a Fair Housing Proclamation declaring the month of April
to be Fair Housing Month in Kentucky.
Overnight accommodations for the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday,
March 17-18, 2010, are confirmed at the Capital Plaza Hotel, 405 Wilkinson
Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601, (502) 227-5100. Commissioners who are
scheduled to attend hearing officer training in Frankfort on Friday, March 19", will stay at
the hotel the evening of March 18". Direct bill arrangements are in place, and room
