The typical problem of these ECUs and that after a few years the car goes to two

cylinders, for lack of current to a coil from the control unit.


Before proceeding with the repair we need to understand if the problem is
resolved, so you have to take a measurement with the tester.
Place the tester on "continuity", apply the red cap of the screw in the unit and
the first black to pin 38 and the pin 10 of the ECU.

In the case where the controller presents the defect classic


"misfire of a coil" and the value of the two measurements
proves equal is not possible to perform the repair due to the
rupture of one or both of the components indicated in the
picture.

When the two values are different (eg: 470 and 850) it is
possible to perform the repair.
It 'a good idea in any case, check the presence of traces of coal
also other track to avoid the car returns back after a short time.
The value of the measurements after repair must be between
400 ohms and 750 ohms and must be more or less equal on
both the pin (eg. 470 and 488).
