REPORT ON HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION AT CLARAS COLLEGE OF

EDUCATION
SEPTEMBER 14, 2015
The Hindi Diwas was celebrated on September 14, 2015 in the lecture hall
of Claras College of Education. The function started at 2.00 PM with the
inaugural speech of Dr. Harsha Merchant, Principal Claras College of Education.
She emphasized upon the importance of Hindi in our day to day life. She also
encouraged all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff present at the
occasion to increase the usage of Hindi without limiting it upto celebrating Hindi
Divas.
B. Ed students whole heartedly participated in the various programmes
organized during the celebration. Few students conducted story telling session
and told stories of eminent Hindi writer with moral lessons. After storytelling,
poem recital programme was conducted by students. They recited one- two
poems each of eminent Hindi poets. There was competition for explaining the
meaning of Hindi idioms with its uses in sentence for B. Ed students. The
competition was very interesting and all the students participated in this
competition whole heartedly.
At the end all faculties have been requested to say few words on the
occasion and they addressed the students and highlighted the importance and
relevance of Hindi in day to day life and nation building. The whole event ended
with a vote of thanks.
