Why is Math Important?

Math is part of our everyday life. We use

math to measure, estimate, and problem
solve in many areas. Math is found in
the kitchen as we bake and cook our
meals. Math can be done in pairs,
groups or just by yourself. Math can be
challenging but rewarding at the same
time. Math is everywhere! We use the
Math Expressions Series at Oak Ridge.
We are a community of mathematicians.
We often reflect on our learning by
writing in our math journal.
