LIVESLEY
It is with regret that we advise of the passing of Mary J. Livesley (Robb),
beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on October
7, 2015 at Heritage Manor Long Term Care Facility in Kindersley, Sask.
Mary suffered a severe stroke on June 7, 2015 from the effects of which
she never recovered. We wish to thank all of those charged with Mary's
care, in both Kindersley and Unity, during the time of her affliction for their efforts. Mary
was born in Winnipeg, Man., on February 22, 1930, the third child of William and Mary
Robb. She received all of her education there followed by a few years clerking at a
neighbourhood bank. After an extensive courtship she married Roy Livesley, on
September 20, 1952 and thus began her nomadic life as a banker's wife being asked to
move 11 times in 38 years. Mary was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Robb,
two older brothers William and Andrew, granddaughter Heather Barilla in 1996. However,
her greatest sorrow was the loss of a daughter, Laura Trippel to cancer in 2010 at the age
of 52 years. Left to mourn are her loving husband Roy of 63 years, daughters Mary-Lee
Cunningham (Terry) and Linda Betnar (Delbert); grandchildren Scott Barilla, Shannon
Bergstrom (Matthew) and their father Blair Barilla, plus Brooke Trippel and her father Dale
Trippel; great-grandson Askel Bergstrom and Haroldine Marcus, sister-in-law living in
Dartmouth, N.S. Mary was a loving, caring person who quickly made friends wherever she
was located. Her greatest love was for her family whom she loved to entertain and spent
many hours creating special memories and traditions that will remain with us forever. She
also was very fond of dogs, shopping, curling, travelling, knitting, flowers, playing cards,
square dancing and volunteering her help wherever needed. Mary has been an active
member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and was elected to the office of
Worthy Grand Matron for Saskatchewan in April 1992. This position involved travelling
many miles throughout the U.S.A. and Canada. The memories of Mary will forever be
cherished by all who knew her. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Monday,
October 19, 2015 at Unity United Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Pleasant
View Cemetery followed by lunch in the C.E. Building. Memorial Donations may be made
to either to Unity United Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation Saskatchewan Division
and sent in care of Roy Livesley, Box 325, Unity, Sask. S0K 4L0. Arrangements entrusted
to Glassford's Funeral Home.
