WHAT I WANT TO KNOW

is there still slavery in america
how long did African American slavery in the
americas last
Where did the slaves that escaped go
What would happen if the slaves became
educated

There is still slavery in America

Originated around the time of the build of

European colonies
Started out by enslaving African Americans
These slaves were prohibited from being
educated
Used to farm plantations or work in the house

WHAT I LEARNED
Many traffickers lie to their victims by telling them that they have been selected for a high-paying job.
Every year 17,500 people are brought to the U.S. for trafficking.
Typically traffickers look for runaway children, victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or people who
have lived through war conflict.
out of 167 countries, the U.S. is ranked 145th for countries with slavery
Today, the U.S has 60,000 people in slavery
slavery still goes on in the U.S., like human trafficking
African Slavery went from the 1500s to the early 1800s

slavery
why arent people able to escape slavery
why arent slaves getting proper care
why dont tax collectors just send the debtors to
