importance of civil defense society in order to minimize effects of dangers in times
of emergency to save human life and property. It also includes remedial measures
against natural and manmade disasters such as floods, earthquakesetc.
To equip the youth of today with basic civil defends skills, techniques so that they
can tackle basic problems. Edwards college presents civil defense society where the
students would be given lessons on civil defense techniques such as understanding
college security system, handling situations in case of emergency, performing
duties Im college control roll, understanding cctv system, evacuation, rescue,
medical service/first aid, detection and marking of danger areas, fire fighting, self
defense both on theoretical and practical grounds.
The aims Is to develop a sense of awareness and precaution among students , to
reduce the minimum number of casualties in and around the college and among the
people to minimized damage .
