This Week
In READING : We are reading Prudy’s Problem. We will be talking about
compound words. Questioning as a way to comprehend, and drawing
conclusions.
Vocabulary:
butterflies: insects with thin bodies and four wings
a collection: a group of things
ie iglasses enormous: very, very large; huge
2. football scattered: separated and going in different directions.
jomework shoelaces: string of cord used to tie shoes
i strain: to draw tightly; to stretch too much.
In Writing:
We are working with writing incorporating science into our writing an
expository text. We will discuss the differences between expository and
narrative texts as well as how to write good introductions.
In Math
We are working with Chapter 3, continuing with different multiplication
concepts.
Important Math Vocabulary :
Be Associative Property of Multiplication: the property that states that when
trae ‘the grouping of factors is changed, the product remains the same.
| Challenge Words Ex: 5x( 4x3) = (5x4)x3
) 4. thumbtack Distributive Property of Multiplication: the property that states that
. earthquake multiplying a sum by a number is that same as multiplying each addend by the
scrapbook number and then adding the products.

Multiple: the product of two counting numbers is called a multiple of each of
those numbers.
Ex: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100. These are all multiples of 10
