STUDENT DESSERTION

GROUP N 1.
DANIEL B., SANTIAGO R., JENNIFER A., SIMN A.,
CARLOS.
Student dessertion is one of the most important problems in this university,
becouse the students want to finish their carrers, but for external and
internal situation, this student does not continue to study. Students in
Colombia prefer to live and study in Medellin, they are facing external and
internal situations, such as: economic problems, psycological problems,
personal and family problems, academic charge, among others factors.
The questions asked in te survery to five different students from
Universidad Nacional de Colombia were:
1. Do you know someone in this university who had dessertion? If yes,
what are the reason?
2. Do you know the programs offer the university about this situation?
3. What do you thing are the factors that generate the mayority student
dessertion?
the analysis and conclusions of the answers obtained by the five students
surveyed were as follows:
1. The first question, Do you know someone in this university who had
dessertion? if yes, what are the reason?
The principal reason of the students desertion, is that they do not have
university accompanies in relation with economic and academic problems.
Finally, affirm that others factors are the indiscipline and the preference to
study other career.
2. Te second question, Do you know the programs the university offers
about situation?
The majority of the students that answered the question, said that they
did not know many programs exists but did not denied their existence,
also said, students who know many programs, that there are not enough.
3. The third question , what do you think are factors the generate the
majority student dessertion?

The mainly factors identified in the research, by respondents students, are


economic problems, few accompanies, academic problems and few
quotas to programs offers.
Finally the roles of each student were chosen to form the campaign group
with which the discussion will be made. The rolels they were chosen as
follows: Candidate (Daniel), campaign manager (Carlos), Political Consultant
(Jennifer), Activist (Santiago) and Communicator (Simn).
