Cooperating Teacher Comments Regarding Lesson Plan and Lesson

Teachers know how to teach. #4
The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies, including the use of technology, to encourage children's development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. You researched strategies that would help students respond critically to essay questions. You made it relevant by showing the Badger test and an example. You chunked the lesson. You gave a nice introduction of these strategies in small sizes. These are strategies that must be continually repeated throughout the year and students got a good foundation through this lesson. Teachers know how to test for student progress. #8 The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of the pupil. You did a nice job scaffolding the activity. Whole group, small groups and finally their ticket out was individually. You listened to students feedback to determine whether to continue to the next point or practice more. The assessments allowed for you to get a snapshot of where students were in relation to the strategy. Teachers are able to evaluate themselves. #9 The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effects of his or her choices and actions on pupils, parents, professionals in the learning community and others and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally. You reflected on your instruction through review students assessments. You felt that you should have done less based on students responses. You took time to think about what you could have done differently to address the constructed response. You do a nice job reflecting on your practice, however the lesson presented this day was an outstanding introduction!
