Reading
Story: This week we will be reading a fable titled, Six
Crows by Leo Lionni. We will also be working a version
of Corduroy that has been written in play form. This will
help increase reading fluency.

Oct. 19, 2015

Comprehension Skill: Identifying the central message

of a fable.
Phonics Pattern: kn, wr, ph, mb
Decodable: We will be rereading past decodable books
to review the patterns we have worked on.

Math
Skill: We will be taking a test on subtraction with and
without regrouping. We will then begin working on story

problems.

What you can do: You can help your child by working
on addition and subtraction (we will work on that when we finish
addition) facts at home. Flashcards are a great way to practice
these.
