Value Stream Map

This diagram shows a value steam map for the fictional K Soda company. This diagram
allows you to see at a glance the number of shifts, uptime, and inventory hours each
process has.

Diagram Flow
The diagram flows basically counter-clockwise to start then follows the connectors. Each
step in the soda making process is shown and details for that area are displayed with data
graphics.

Data
The data file has the following columns:
Process
Inventory (hrs)
CT (sec)
CO (mins)
Uptime (%)
Shifts
Availability (hrs)

Data Graphics
There are two different data graphics used in this diagram.

Data Graphic - Inventory


This data graphic is made up of two elements and is applied to the Inventory shapes to
the left of the process they belong to.
Inventory (hrs) This is an icon set that displays flags based on a range of values
a. Red Flag Greater than 30.
b. Yellow Flag Between 2 and 30.
c. Green Flag Less than 2.
Inventory (hrs) This is a text callout displayed below the shape that shows the
value of the Inventory (hrs) field.

Data Graphic - Process


This data graphic is made up of five elements and is applied to the process shapes.
Process This is a text heading that displays the name of the process above the
shape.
CO (mins) This is a text element that displays the CO (mins) data.
Shifts This is a text element that displays the number of Shifts.
Uptime (%) This is a data bar element that displays the Uptime data with a
minimum value of 0 and a maximum of 100.

CT (sec) This is a data bar element that displays the CT (sec) data with a minimum
value of 0 and a maximum of 110.
