Correct and timely dissemination of information is very critical in


aviation safety. Failure to distribute correct and timely information
will result to catastrophe. In order to achieve this, the following
measures must be taken.
1. Good communication
Good communication is vital in aviation Industry
Communication must be:
a) Correct Standard Part Names, Part Numbers
b) Complete - Enough information.
c) Clear - Say what you mean to say.
2. There are 3 forms of communication:
a) Verbal communication
- The spoken word between 2 persons or more
- Face to face or through an electronic medium such
as telephone, radio, loud speaker etc.
b) Non Verbal Communication
- As a body language
- Wave, smile or frown
c) Written Communication
- Notes, memos, documents or e-mails
Good dissemination of information within an organization forms part
of its safety culture. Typically, the maintenance organization will be
the sender and the individual engineer will be the recipient.
Planning,
that an aircraft maintenance engineer or team of
engineers needs to plan the way work will be performed. This
includes checking to see if there is any information highlighting a
change associated with the task
