Typing special characters

On Screen Keyboard (aka OSK) is a nice little Windows build in utility that displays the keyboard on
screen and allows you to use the mouse to type any keystroke combination.

Freeware tools such as Free Virtual Keyboard allow more customization, even define transparency,
in case OSK takes too much screen estate.

The good old <ALT>nnn method does the job of entering special characters under all circumstances.
Simply hold the <ALT>-key while typing the numeric combination corresponding to the wanted
character. Below youll find a list of frequently used characters:

Maximizing screen estate

When using RDP inside a browser window (i.e. in the Las Vegas environment), you can optimise the
usable screen estate of the RDP session by maximizing the browser window and going into full
screen mode before actually connecting to the AccessVM.
Start by auto hiding the taskbar.
Right click on the taskbar and select Properties.

Tick the Auto-hide the taskbar checkbox and click Apply or OK.

Before clicking on the tile to start the RDP session to the AccessVM, hit <F11> to put the browser
into FullScreen-mode

Next click on the AccessVM tile.

The RDP session opens full screen without the clutter from the Status bar, nor the browsers Address
bar and Tab bar.

The RDPs toolbar can be minimized by clicking on the left icon. You may even move the toolbar to a
spot on the screen where it least bothers you.
