    Math Assessments
    I will send home your childs end of unit
    math tests for your to see as they are
    completed. All I ask is that you sign the test
    and return it to me so that I may keep it in
    your childs file until the end of the year. I
    am sending home the Unit 1 assessment
    today. Students are given a pre-test (blue
    paper) at the beginning of each unit. This
    helps me to see what students already
    know and adjust my instruction
    accordingly. If a student scores 80% or
    higher, I do not have them take the post
    test (white paper). Your childs assessment
    packet also includes a self-assessment and
    open response activity. Some students
    may have a challenge page as well. Please
    sign and return these to me. Thanks.

    Field Trip
    Our trip to the AADL is Tuesday, October
    20 at 1:00 p.m. Please remember to
    check with the library (327-4219) to
    make sure your childs card hasnt expired.
    If you are still planning to send in an
    application for a library card. Please send
    it by Tuesday, October 13, I will be taking
    them to the library that afternoon to be
    processed. Permission slips are being sent
    home today. Please sign them and return
    them to school ASAP. Thanks.

    Hearing and Vision Screening


    Screening will be for hearing only, unless
    there is a parent or teacher request. The
    form (blue) that I sent home today only
    needs to come back to school if you wish
    to alert the screener about something in
    your childs medical history. Screening
    dates are Oct-26-Oct 28th.

    Reminders:
    Please have children complete math
    homework every night and return it to
    school the next day.
    Please have children bring their
    homework folder to school each day.
    Please sign the weekly behavior report
    and return it to me. Thank you!
